We crossed Niagara Falls off the Bucket List!
In November, I had to go to Toronto for work. First, before I get to Niagara, Toronto is a great city! Much like New York City with hustle and bustle, but SO clean! And I love Canadians. 🙂 Such friendly people.
Hubby and I decided that this required work trip would be a great opportunity to see Niagara Falls. After all, they are just over the border…about an hour or so away from Toronto.
We began our trek to Niagara Falls. We were told by everyone to drive through Niagara on the Lake…so we did. What a GREAT place!! It’s vineyard and winery after winery and vineyard. It was awesome. It was overwhelming. How to decide which one to visit?! We only had time for one, so we stopped at Inniskillin. We took a tour of the winery and learned all about icewine and had some samples. Seriously, it’s like liquid birthday cake. Yummy, yummy. I know it’s not for everyone because it’s so sweet but I stocked up. 🙂 I had no idea I liked icewine so much.
After our tor of Inniskillin, we got back on the road to head States-side. Across the Rainbow Bridge to the Land of the free, home of the brave. Strangely, it felt good to cross the border. I love this country.
After crossing the bridge, we only had a few short miles before reaching our hotel, which was right on the falls! We could hear the roar from our doorstep. The room was really small, especially for the price but it was worth it for the experience. We hopped out of the car and started taking in the sites. The Falls are beautiful. They are impressive.
It was off-season so the Maid of the Mist was not in operation…so we’ll be back for that.
Great pictures! I’m jealous. I’ve wanted to go forever and I just never do. I feel inspired by your photos though, maybe this will be the year I make the time.
